Health: Paralysis Treatment

Paralysis is described in AYURVEDA in VATA-ROGA.

DEFINATION:-

Paralysis is loss of muscle function for one or more muscles. Sometimes it can also be accompanied by loss of feeling in the affected area.

CAUSES:-

IN AYURVEDA paralysis is due to ‘VATA VIKRUTI’ (imbalance of VATA DOSHA)
Paralysis is caused by damage in nervous system due to stroke, trauma, nerve injury, viral infection in nerve cells, brain tumor etc.

VARIATIONS:-

According to CHARAK SANHITA paralysis could be localized (AKANG ROG) or generalized (SARVANG ROG).Here Maharshi Charak described main types of paralysis as follow.
  • ARDITA (FACIAL PARALYSIS)
  • PAKHSAGHATA (HEMIPLEGIA)
  • SARVANG GHATA (GENERLIZED PARALYSIS)

1   FACIAL PARALYSIS (ARDITA)

Facial paralysis is abnormalities of one side of face. When facial nucleus is affected by infarct of the  pontine arteries it leads to lacunar infarct affecting fibres in the internal capsule to the nucleus. It leads to the facial paralysis…

SYMPTOMS:

  • Loss of voluntary movements of the facial muscles
  • Stiffness of facial muscles
  • Sometimes test is also affected

2   HEMIPLEGIA (PAKSHAGHATA)

Hemiplegia is paralysis of the arm, leg, and trunk on the same side of the body. (One side of the body) the most common cause of hemiplegia is stroke.
Due to stroke blockage of blood vessels in brain occurs. This leads to shortage of oxygen and nutrient materials to brain. This result in the death of neuron this leads to accumulation of watery discharge in dead neuron and surrounding area. This can be seen on CT SCAN dark area compared to normal brain tissue. This is called infarct. It leads to hemiplegia.
In hemiplegia maximum incidence of infraction is seen in basal ganglia region of brain. The injury is usually manifested on the opposite side of the body. If there is injury in right side of brain hemiplegia will be on the left side of the body.

SYMPTOMS:

  • Difficulty in voluntary function of hand and leg
  • Muscular stiffness in affected area.
  • Sometimes muscular spasms-pain.
  • Difficulty with speech.
  • Difficulty in swallowing food.
  • Anxiety, anger, irritability, depression, etc

3 GENERALIZED PARALYSIS (SARVANG GHATA)

Generalized paralysis is full body paralysis. It is neuropsychiatric disorder affecting the brain and central nervous system. The most common cause of it is sudden severe mental tension.

SYMPTOMS:

It is seen in rare cases. Patient usually presented with psychotic symptoms of sudden onset.  In this case the patient would become completely incapacitated and bedfast and then after 3 to 5 years it results in death.

TREATMENT:

  • PARALYSIS IS CURABLE
    • Paralysis is curable at Dr.Amina’s Royal Ayurveda which has already been proved by the testimonials.
  • MEDICINES
  1. SANJIVANI KALP
  2. SANJIVAVI GHRUT
  3. AMRUT KALP
  4. AMRUT GHRUT
If there is infarct  or Hemetoma in brain SANJIVANI TREATMENT should be done
SCHEDULE OF SANJIVANI TREATMENT
FIRST 10 DAYS TREATMENT
SANJIVANI KALP with warm milk twice a day
SANJIVANI GHRUT massage on paralytic parts of body
Result  5%  to 10%
It will remove blockage of blood vessels of brain  so reduces size of infarct or hemetoma in brain and heals brain cells. It will  subside paralytic edema on body and remove stiffness
SECOND 10 DAYS TREATMENT
Need base treatment it will purify blood and also improve blood circulation. the improvement in paralysis will be continue
THIRD 10 DAYS TREATMENT
SANJIVANI KALP with warm milk twice a day
SANJIVANI GHRUT massage on paralytic parts of body
Result  10%  to 20%
It will remove blockage of blood vessels of brain  so reduces size of infarct or hemetoma in brain and heals brain cells.More improvement in paralysis. Patient feels easy to move
FORTH 10 DAYS TREATMENT
Need base treatment it will purify blood and also improve blood circulation. the improvement in paralysis will be continue
Thus alternate Sanjivani treatment and Need base treatment should be given till necessity  of patient. Now in MRI of brain  infarct or hemetoma will no be present. MRI of brain will saw only gliosis( scar tissues). patient will be free from paralysis
THIS ENSURES THE COMPLETE CURE OF PARALYSIS
But if there will be any type of Atrophy in brain paralysis will not be completely cured some defect will be remain.
NOW AMRUT TREATMENT SHOULD BE DONE
AMRUT KALP twice a day with warm milk
AMRUT  GHRUT Massage on head (for best result all hairs should be removed from head)
Gradually blood supply will be increased and  rejuvenation of the Brain Cells will be done so improvement in residual paralytic defect will be start.

Alert:!!! Car AC causes 3 men Dead

NEW DELHI: Three businessmen were found dead under mysterious circumstances in their Honda City car in South Delhi's R. K. Puram on Monday night.

The victims, identified as Lakshman Singh (37), Balvinder Singh (35) and Nishant Datta (30), all residents of South Delhi, were found unconscious in the sedan.

Balvinder was found on the driver's seat, while the other two were sitting in the rear seat of the sedan. The trio ran their own online event management company.

Investigators suspect that the deaths were caused by Carbon Monoxide poisoning since there were no signs of any struggle and the air conditioner of the car was also on.

Relatives of the deceased, however, claimed that it was a case of poisoning.

A fourth person, who relatives claims was also in the car, is missing, they said.

"We are questioning the family members of all the victims and trying to get some leads. There is some circumstantial evidence that points towards foul play and we are looking at the case from all possible angles," a senior police officer of South district said, adding that any conclusion could only be reached after a postmortem report is out.

Lakshman's younger brother Kanhaiya noticed something was amiss when the trio did not respond even after he repeatedly knocked on the car's window pane.

The car was parked opposite Kanhaiya's eatery shop in Sector 4 of R.K. Puram area.

"Kanhaiya immediately informed his family members who live nearby," the officer said, adding that the car belonged to Lakshman.

The victim's father later informed the president of resident welfare association, Kuldeep Singh, about the incident, and he in turn informed the police.

"After receiving the PCR call, local police reached at the spot and found that the car doors were unlocked. They pulled the three, who were unconscious and frothing at the mouth, out of the car and took them to AIIMS Trauma Centre where they were pronounced dead on arrival.

"They had vomited inside the car as well," the police officer said, adding that two steel glasses were also found lying near the car though they are not sure if the glasses were used by the three.

"Lakshman had bought packets of chips from Kanhaiya's shop around 7.10pm. The items recovered from the car include packets of chips, noodles and pasta," Nishant's brother-in-law Manoj Kumar told the police.

Kanhaiya told Mail Today that his brother left the house around 3.40pm and, around 5.30pm, he saw the Honda City car parked about 50 meters from his shop.

Before joining the event management company, Balvinder worked in his family transport business.

He has a three-year-old son, while Laxman has a 12-year-old daughter and an 8-year-old son. Nishant worked in private banks before joining the business.

Orange Juice for Himoglobin*****

Orange contains Vitamin B6 which accelerates production of hemoglobin in the system. The juice thereby prevents any cell damage and is beneficial for anyone suffering from anemia. It pumps iron into the blood stream. Additionally, it is a source of calcium, which promotes bone and teeth health. It also helps to lower bad cholesterol levels and protects against inflammation.

Tip: Have at least two glasses of fresh orange juice regularly (preferably unstrained), with the pulp. Avoid adding any sugar. This dose of Vitamin C will help do away with iron deficiency in the system.

Google offers Rs.6 crore Prize

NEW DELHI: Tech giant Google is offering a prize of USD one million (about Rs 6 crore) for building a compact solution for transforming renewable energy into a power source that can be used at home.

Google, along with Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers ( IEEE), has started a 'Little Box Challenge' to design and build a kW-scale power inverter, a device used to convert renewable energy, including solar and wind, before transforming it into suitable current for home and vehicles.

The challenge is that the new device has to be of the size of a small laptop, roughly 1/10th of the current size.

"We are looking for someone to build a kW-scale inverter with a power density greater than 50W per cubic inch. Do it best and we will give you a million bucks," Google said in a blogpost.

Google believes that this will help "change the future of electricity".

"We believe that inverters will become increasingly important to our economy and environment as solar PV, batteries, and similar power sources continue their rapid growth," Google said.

It added that the innovation coming in will have wide applicability across areas, will increase efficiency, drive down costs and open up new use cases.

Google said making the power inverter smaller would enable more solar-powered homes, more efficiently distributed electrical grids, and could help bring electricity to the most remote parts of the planet.

"A smaller inverter could help create low-cost microgrids in remote parts of the world. Or allow you to keep the lights on during a blackout via your electric car's battery. Or enable advances we haven't even thought of yet," Eric Raymond from Google's Green Team wrote.

The last date for registration is September 30, 2014, while the grand prize winner will be announced in January 2016.

How do I get rid of unwanted Hair

am 29 years old. I have excessive hair growth on my chest and back. While I don’t want to get rid of completely, how do I manage it?

With excessive hair growth on the chest and back, it can get quite messy after some point of time. Here are some tips to manage the dense growth:

Ensure that, the growth at the back and chest are in the same proportion.

For keeping some length on, the body hair trimmers are the best tools. They come with different adjustments for different lengths.

Trim rather lightly and use a scissor for light-plucking. Also, while trimming, leave the area from below the chin till a little lower than the Adam’s apple.

As for the back – you may want to take a friend’s help. Begin with trimming from the bottom of your back in straight smooth motions. Be careful, since the blades can scrape your flesh.

Shaving is the most common method but you have to be very particular. A little negligence and you could end up with cuts and skin irritation. Also the subsequent hair growth may be much harsher.

If you are looking for an absolutely smooth surface, waxing could be an option. But then you’d need to get a session every month!

Regular trimming would help control the dense growth and at the same time look presentable in case you plan to go shirtless on the beach.

Rs. 3,000 cr. worth iPads for LowCost

Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Friday said the State government was thinking of distributing 'iPad' to all households in the State at an estimated cost of Rs. 3,000 crore.

Speaking on the second day of his two-day tour of the Anantapur district, he said the State government was in talks with telecom service providers such as Reliance, Airtel and BSNL to offer 4G services to those iPads so that the best of the technological advances could be known by the people, egging them on to further development.

“Even students can reduce their load of books and switch over to the iPad,” said Mr. Naidu, even as he said the State government would make full use of modern technology to reach out and create an interface with the people.

Earlier in the day, Mr. Naidu visited the famous Lakshmi Nrusimha Swamy temple in Kadiri town and prayed there before proceeding to a dargah close by.

At a meeting with weavers and farmers at Mudigubba mandal hesdquarters, as part of the last leg of his tour, he promised them his full attention and greater prosperity.

A major part of Mr. Naidu's was dedicated to counting the numerous problems, he said, the State was facing, while providing a ray of relief saying that he was determined to turn the tide of problems into newer opportunities and prosperity for the State.

He appealed to people to observe that the loan waiver of Rs. 1.5 lakh per family for farm loans and Rs. 1 lakh per SHG was taken in the interest of farmers and women although the State was staring at a fiscal deficit of over 16,000 crore. Mr. Naidu said drip irrigation would be given prominence in the district while promoting horticulture and alternative livelihood sources such as dairying and sheep rearing.

Mr. Naidu left for Hyderabad soon after the meeting at Mudigubba by helicopter.

Shocked:!!! SSC Question about KatrinaKaif

KOCHI: I was a focused three-quarters of the way into the Combined Graduate Level Exam conducted by the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) on Sunday when I was distracted by this gem:

Q: Who among the following actresses is the tallest in height [sic]?

A: (a) Huma Qureshi (b) Katrina Kaif (c) Deepika Padukone (d) Preity Zinta

Well, I ruled out Preity right away but the remaining three posed a problem. Maybe the guys answering the test, with a keener eye for vital stats, had a better chance of answering the question but I, for one, was ruing the fact I didn't watch the bikini scenes — remember that paparazzi photo of Katrina and actor Ranbir Kapoor on a beach holiday — more closely. Bare feet, unlike stilettos, hardly lie.

Anyway, I finally ticked (c) Deepika Padukone as the tallest of the four ladies, though I did tiptoe for a moment thinking of Huma. The moment of truth, of course, came after the test.

Dipika Padukone.

I love my Bollywood but my feminist sensibilities — not always on a sure footing, I must admit — were ruffled: how could an all-India examination, attempted by about 10 lakh people and purportedly meant to create efficient public servants, be judged on the basis of such trivia? As a proud, self-respecting south Indian woman, I am neither size zero nor a walking advertisement for Fair & Lovely and that added to the insult.

What took the cake, however, was the question that appeared in the General Intelligence and Reasoning section. Two statements were given. First: All women are cats. Second: All cats are rats. Therefore the two possible conclusions are: (a) All women are rats or (b) All rats are women.

There is a fine difference between the two but neither is exactly complimentary to women.

"Comparing women to animals is unjustifiable," said Kerala Women's Commission chairperson KC Rosakkutty. "It is like defaming women. Such trends should not be entertained when lots of other fair choices are available."

Well-known educationist RVG Menon agreed. "Questions on film and sports are common in competitive exams," Menon said. "But the particular questions reflect the attitude and standards of those who framed the question. There are lots of other examples one can give. Such kind of statements should not be used. It is an unhealthy trend."

But Kerala PSC chairman K S Radhakrishnan defended the 'rat' question. "It is the best example to check the candidate's logical reasoning ability," he said. "It has nothing to do with the gender sensitivity of the pers

on who prepared the question. Such questions are generally directly taken from textbooks on logical fallacy."

Monsoon Weddings

Monsoon weddings may be a hit as they score high on the romantic factor, but they spell skin and hair problems for the brides.

To get a radiant skin, girls should adhere to certain rules like shunning oil and going for less cosmetics, said an expert.

Sangeeta Amladi, head medical services, Kaya Skin Clinic, draws up a handy list of beauty do's and don'ts for the blushing bride-to-be to ensure she looks exactly the way she feels - like a princess, said a statement.

Five beauty tips to follow before a monsoon wedding:

Keep the oil at bay: Oil secretion is accelerated during the monsoons, so make sure you wash your face with a mild face wash around three-four times a day. You could also use a gentle scrub with mild beads once a day. It is important to recognise what suits your skin and what doesn't well ahead of your wedding day. After all, your skin is your crowning glory and you don't want anything to mar your bridal beauty.

Go pro-protein: We know how all that pre-wedding anxiety makes you want to eat literally everything off the shelf. While comfort food may calm your nerves for a while, your skin is far from happy with your food choices. Maintain a balance by eating foods that are rich in protein such as salmon, eggs, carrots, dark green veggies, nuts and low-fat dairy products.

Get your fix of skin pampering: While you're busy running around on last-minute errands and making sure everything is in place, your skin is begging for some spa indulgence. Unwinding with a relaxing facial regularly will ensure that you, as well as your skin, feel like a million bucks on the day you are to wed. However, a word of caution, get these facials done by professionals who can customize it to your skin type, to avoid any ill-timed reactions.

Go easy on the cosmetics: While you are the bride and understandably want all eyes on you, applying heavy makeup is a big no-no. Using non-greasy makeup will lend a clean matte finish to your skin. Additionally, opt for water-proof brands as the increased moisture in the air means you stand the risk of looking like a painting gone wrong.

Keep an eye out for those nasty fungal infections: While you may be out shopping or enjoying dinner at a restaurant with your to-be husband, the rain may catch you unawares. Although it is oh-so-romantic to get drenched in the rain with your significant other, fungal infections will definitely make you regret it later. Bathing with lukewarm water and using anti-fungal creams, soaps and talc will ensure your skin stays healthy and infection-less.

Five beauty don'ts to steer clear of before D-day:

Don't subject your tresses to elaborate treatments: Using a mild shampoo to wash your hair and conditioning afterwards will restore volume to your hair and also get rid of the frizz that comes with rain. Keep hair treatments to the minimum and avoid styling products as they tend to cause dandruff.

It's okay to lose your mind, but definitely not your sleep: As you count down the days to your wedding, it is absolutely okay to feel restless, it's part of being the bride after all. However, make it a point to get at least seven hours of sleep every night and catch a few winks in between occasionally. If you feel uncharacteristically lethargic, try some yoga to boost your energy levels.

Leave the experimenting for another day: Tempted to try out a new beauty treatment you looked up on the internet? Think that a newly introduced cream will add to your bridal glow? Think again. Your skin may not feel the same way you do and you do not want to end up with a nasty reaction barely days before your marriage.

Don't step out without sunscreen: You would do well to remember that sunscreen is your best friend throughout all seasons. In fact, sunscreen also protects the skin from harmful UV rays that are emitted by your computer screens and television sets! Make a sunscreen with SPF 30 or higher factor part of your bridal beauty regime and put your tanning and pigmentation woes to rest.

Don't forget to remember your feet: Good foot care starts with some tender love, soak your feet in warm water and use a pumice stone to gently scrub away loose skin. Treat your feet while you sleep - slather on a thick moisturizer and slip into a pair of socks, which will help seal in moisture overnight. Go for regular pedicure sessions, after all you do need good feet to rock those stunning shoes!

Seedless Mangoes

Patna, July 22 (IANS) First came seedless grapes. Now, Indian scientists have developed what could be the ultimate delicacy - a seedless mango which is finely textured and juicy, with a rich, sweet and distinctive flavour when mature.

"We have developed a seedless mango variety from hybrids of mango varieties Ratna and Alphonso," V.B. Patel, chairman of the horticulture department at the Bihar Agriculture University(BAU) at Sabour in Bhagalpur district, told IANS.

Trials of the new variety, named Sindhu, are under way at different locations in the country but the result of the one at BAU suggests it could be suitable for both integrated horticulture and kitchen gardening.

"We are happy and enthuastic as well as confident and hopeful of improving the seedless mango variety," Patel said.

He said that an average fruit weighs 200 grams and its pulp, which is yellowish in colour, has less fibre than other mango varieties.

He said the trials of the Sindhu variety, originally developed at the regional fruit research station of the Konkan Krishi Vidyapeeth at Dapoli in Maharashtra's Konkan region, has thrown up good fruiting on a three-year-old plant this year. It generally grows in bunch and the fruit matures in the middle of July.

BAU vice chancellor M.L. Choudhary said the university has, on an experimental basis, decided to recreate plants of this variety and make them available to Bihar's mango growers during the next season.

"The seedless variety also has good export potential. The university would provide quality plants to mango growers in 2015 to explot the export market," he added.

Patel said our trial has successfully established that seedless mango could be grown in local condition.

According to the National Horticulture Mission (NHM), Bihar ranks third in mango cultivation and covers about 50 percent - a little over 38,000 hectares - of the total fruit area in the state. The produce last year was in the region of 1.5 million tonnes.

Malda, Mallika, Jardaloo, Gulabkhas, Bumbai, Daseri and Chausa are major mango varieties grown in the state.

But, then, no longer will one be able to utter this Indian homily: "Aam khana hai ya gutli gin ni hai" losely translated as "Do you want to eat mangoes or count the seeds" but in reality meaning 'Don't look a gift horse in the mouth'.

And, there are many who will lament being denied the pleasure of licking the seed clean of the fruit.

As they say, You just can't win them all!

Buy Or Rent A Home..???

Should you buy or rent a home?
The flowchart below may be able to help you decide.
Like with most money questions, there's no one, universal answer.
Instead, it depends on your own situation, from the state of your savings to whether you're willing to coordinate getting a leaky faucet fixed.
When going through the chart, keep in mind that your answer is just for now — if the chart says you're better off renting, it certainly doesn't mean you have to rent forever.
In six months, a year, or even a matter of weeks, your situation could change and so could your answer.

9 Easy Ways to Maintain your Hair

You go to great lengths to turn your dream of lustrous hair into reality. You take great pains to take care of your precious hair during the summers and the winters, but unfortunately, ignore them during the monsoon season. No wonder that your crowning glory looks messy and lifeless during these few months. So, here are some tips to ensure that this monsoon season your hair gets all the love it deserves.

Oil your hair

During the monsoon season your hair becomes frizzy and dry. So, a hot oil massage is the best elixir for it. Make sure that you oil your hair twice a week. Oiling provides your scalp with essential nutrients, and also strengthens the hair roots. Coconut oil works best for your hair during this season.

Hair wash and conditioning

Due to excessive humidity during the monsoon season, you will sweat more. A sweaty scalp attracts dust and pollutants, which in turn leads to dandruff. So, you must focus on cleaning your scalp thoroughly. That is why, you should wash your hair every alternate day.
After the wash, use a conditioner as well. Rain water leaves your hair dry and dull. Conditioner provides your hair with essential moisture and makes it smooth and soft.

Avoid hair treatments

Monsoon is not the time to straighten, curl or colour your hair. During monsoons, the high levels of humidity will make your hair go limp and thus, spoil your hairstyle. During monsoons, it is best to keep your hair short as they become easier to manage. Also, always keep your hair tied up neatly.

Stay away from styling products

Hair mousse, hair sprays and styling gels are the worst enemies of your hair during this season. They tend to stick to your scalp and cause dandruff. If you have to use them while going out, remember to wash it off the minute you return home.

Dry your hair properly

During monsoons, carry a soft dry towel at all times. Rainwater contains pollutants and dirt. If you want to minimise the damage, you should pat your hair dry whenever you get a chance. So, always keep a hand towel in your car, in your bag or in your office cabinet.

Avoid hair dryers

You need to keep your hair dry during the monsoon, but a hair dryer will over dry your hair and damage it. If you still have to use it, you should apply a small amount of hair serum after drying to condition your mane. It is best to let your hair dry naturally after you have used a towel.

Never tie up wet hair

Wet hair can be extremely delicate and fragile. If you tie it up, it will lead to hair breakage and dandruff. Tying up wet hair leads to build up of dirt in your scalp and also causes split ends. So, if your hair gets wet due to rain then tie it only after you have dried it well. Also, never comb your wet hair vigourously, as damp hair tend to break very easily.

Protection is the best measure

The best way to keep your hair healthy during the monsoon is to protect it from rain. Always carry an umbrella with you. Also, before leaving the house, tie your hair neatly to protect it. You can also cover your hair with a stole, if you get caught in a downpour. Your stole may not be able to prevent the water from reaching your hair completely, but it will definitely reduce the damage caused.

Eat healthy

Your hair needs a lot of nutrition during the monsoon. Remember, to make your diet rich in proteins and vitamin E. Incorporate walnuts, eggs, fish, spinach and lentils in your grocery list as they are good for your hair. Drink plenty of water and fresh juice as well.

Keep these simple tips in mind and do not let monsoon wreak havoc on your beautiful and healthy hair!

World's poor live on below Rs.75/day

The world has made progress in eradicating extreme poverty, butaround one in five people in developing regions still live on less than $1.25 per day, according to the UN Millennium Development Goals (MDG) report 2014.
Despite achieving the MDG goal of halving global poverty before the 2015 target, progress on poverty reduction has been uneven across geographies, the UN said.
"Some regions, such as Eastern Asia and South-Eastern Asia, have met the target of halving the extreme poverty rate, whereas other regions, such as sub-Saharan Africa and Southern Asia, still lag behind," it wrote in a report released on Wednesday.

In Sub-Saharan Africa and South Asia, 48 percent and 30 percent people live on less than $1.25 a day, respectively, compared with 56 percent and 51 percent in 1990.
India tops the list; one third of the world's extreme poor live in the South Asian nation alone. The country hopes new Prime Minister Narendra Modi will push through reforms that revive the sluggish economy and lift millions out of poverty.
China, by contrast, has made great strides in reducing its extreme poverty rate, which stands at 12 percent from 60 percent two decades ago.
Despite its notable progress, China ranks second, behind India, in terms of countries with the largest share of the global extreme poor, at 13 percent.
"Aside from those populous countries with large numbers of the extreme poor, high poverty rates are often found in small, fragile and conflict-affected countries," the UN said.
Nigeria (9 percent), Bangladesh (5 percent) and the Democratic Republic of the Congo (5 percent)rounded out the top five. Nearly two thirds of the extremely poor lived in those five countries in 2010.

Rs 1,16,00,000/- Medical Bill

Bangalore: Blessed are the netas whose medical expenses and foreign tours rarely make a dent in their finances. Reason: The government is ready to foot the bills.
Enjoying such privileges is Housing Minister M H Ambareesh. His medical bill to the tune of Rs 1.16 crore will be reimbursed by the State government.
As per a notification issued by the Department of Personnel & Administration (protocol) on July 11, the government will reimburse the amount he paid for treatment at Mount Elizabeth Hospital in Singapore in February-March this year.
Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, who also heads the finance department, has given the clearance for relaxing certain norms to reimburse the medical bills.
As per the Medical Attendance Rule of 1958, ministers have to take medical treatment within the country, if the required facilities are available. The maximum reimbursement in such cases is usually Rs 5 lakh.
However, in case of Ambareesh, the rule was relaxed as his family decided to take him to Singapore. The chief minister approved this considering it as a special case.
The notification makes no mention of the nature of health problems faced by the minister. However, it states that the cost of his treatment in Singapore, air ambulance expenses, travel cost of his wife Sumalatha and three doctors — Dr M A Shekar (HoD, Department of Medicine, Mysore Medical College), Dr K S Satish (Vikram Hospital) and Dr N Raghunand (Vikram Hospital) — are included in the bill, which comes to a whopping Rs 1,16,90,137.
In addition, Ambareesh’s medical expenses at Vikram Hospital, where he received treatment initially, are yet to be cleared by the Finance Department. Sources said the government may have to clear another Rs 5 lakh worth of bills.
The minister was admitted to Vikram Hospital from February 21 to 28. He was then airlifted to the Singapore hospital, where he stayed till March 22. Ambareesh’s family took the advice of actor Rajnikanth and shifted him to the Singapore hospital.

Be Aware of Banned Medicines

Hello Guntur People please share this and be aware of this banned medicines.

Here’s a list of banned drugs and medicines in the US. These drugs are not banned just in the US, but also UK, European Union and Mexico. However, it is sad that these drugs and medicines are still prescribed in India, especially combination medicines. Spurious chemists in the US may still sell these drugs; so you have to watch out for them. Also in countries like India, there is a lack of accountability, even if the drugs are banned, the ban is hardly adhered to. In India, when a person clears his MBBS exam, he or she is a doctor for life. But in other countries like the US, doctors have to pass an exam every five years to renew their license. This way, doctors are forced to be in touch with the latest in the field. Now let us look at some of the drugs that are banned in the US:

Cisapride: This medicine is used for gas trouble and nausea. The side effects are that they can cause irregular heartbeats. Recent research n the US shows that Cisapride has several side effects including damage to the heart. It has been banned in many countries. Doctors can prescribe Ranitidine as an alternative.
Loperamide Quniodochlor: This medicine is used for controlling diarrhea. The side effects can be in the form of nerve damage. Loperamide Quniodochlor is banned in the US nad European Union. Peter Williams, a doctor in California says, “These drugs are not safe at all. We try to prescribe medicines that treat the cause of diarrhea rather than diarrhea itself.” The bottom line is you should consult your doctor to assess your condition and not go by the advice of lay persons.
Isoxsuprine: Isoxsuprine is used to treat labor pain. But they are banned in the US due to isoxsuprine’s side effects which can include maternal respiratory distress. Also check with your doctor to confirm whether your abdominal pain is connected with uterine contraction. Most of the times, it is mere gastric trouble.
Rosiglitazone, Metformin and Glibenclamide: These are combination of diabetes drugs that are used to control glucose levels. But in case of overdose, Rosiglitazone, Metformin and Glibenclamide side effects can be in the form of toxicity in the blood. These drugs are banned in the US and EU. India is perhaps the largest market for fixed-dose combination medicine; these combinations do not exist in the developed countries. Pills rolled with three different medications; rolled and sold as one sell in India. So if you are advised combination diabetes drugs, let your doctor know about health conditions that you have at present.
Combination of calcium and alfa caldicol (active metabolized calcium): These drugs are used for kidney and thyroid problems. The side effects of these banned drugs in combination can be in the form of overdose and coma. Again this is a case of combination drugs that are sold in countries like India; they should actually be sold separately as it happens in other countries.
Antibiotic and ameobocidal combinations like Tinnidazole, Norflaxcin and Metronidazole: These are used for stomach infection but the side effects of these combination medicines can be in the form of stomach cancer. These drugs are banned in the US and EU; and they are sold as separate and not in combination. Also combination drugs may be given only in case of very sick patients; doctors should refrain from giving them a combination medication on the excuse of a doubt.
Combination of paracetamol and Nimesulide: These drugs are used to bring down fever. But the side effects of the combination medicine consisting of Paracatemol and Nimesulide are liver damage. Nimesulide is actually banned in the US. When given to children, a combination medicine of Nimesulide along with Paracetamol can lead to hypothermia which can be fatal. Also taking these potent medicines can bring down the body temperature for 12 hours, making it difficult to find out if a child has continuous fever which could be a typhoid symptom or intermittent fever which could be due to malaria. If paracetemol does not bring fever down, then the doctor should prescribe mefenamic acid. Never give medicines to your child without consulting the doctor. Alert your doctor in case, you cannot find the brand prescribed. Go for the generic name.
The other drugs that are banned in the US include
Droperidol: Used for anxiety; side effect: liver damage
Furazolidone: Used for diarrhea, side effect: carcinogenic.
Phenylpropanolamine: Used for cold, side effect: heart and brain damage.
Tegaserod: Used for gastric trouble, side effect: High blood pressure and back pain.
Phenolphthalein: Used for laxative, side effect: carcinogenic.
