Two days after she was unceremoniously removed from office by the government, former foreign secretary Sujatha Singh on Friday hit out at the government saying, "My reputation is being maligned, my record being trashed. Why was this necessary?"On Wednesday, the government had abruptly curtailed her term, just seven months away from her retirement. She was replaced by S Jaishankar, the former envoy to the US.
