On Wednesday, the metropolitan sessions court (Nampally) issued orders to release actress Shweta Basu Prasad, who was caught in a prostitution racket a few weeks ago, from the rescue home.
Shweta has been in the rescue home for 'rehabilitation' for almost two months now and after the court's order she will move to Mumbai to live with her mother. Basu's lawyer says that she was wrongly implicated and police has nothing to prove that she was involved in prostitution.
While an earlier statement allegedly given by the Makdee star stated that she voluntarily got into prostitution, she has now rubbished it. In a new statement the National Award winning actress has stated that she never got involved sexually with any director, producer, actor or agent for getting movie offers. Shweta has stated that she is pursuing her mass media communication course and doesn't need any counselling and rehabilitation.
On August 31, the 23-year-old was arrested by the Hyderabad police at a famous hotel in Banjara Hills and it is said that some high-profile businessmen from Mumbai were also held by the cops.
