Hyderabad: Shamshabad airport authorities are in a spot. The Centre’s order to name the ‘domestic terminal’ of the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport after N.T. Rama Rao has left airport officials nonplussed. A senior official from GMR Ltd. which operates the airport, said: “We are a little confused on how to implement the orders. The airport is integrated and it has no separate terminals. Domestic and international arrivals are being handled in one terminal and departures in another.” “How do we keep separate name boards in the same terminals is the question,” he said. “We will discuss with civil aviation officials and go about it soon,” he said.The Begumpet airport in the heart of Hyderabad had separate terminals for domestic and international travel; the domestic terminal was named after NTR and the international terminal after Rajiv Gandhi. IndiGo, AirAsia India Announce Special Fares

Budget carrier IndiGo has announced special fares starting as low as Rs. 1,647 (all-inclusive) on select destinations. Tickets for this advance fare scheme must be must be purchased at least 90 days prior to departure. Currently, AirAsia India is also offering promotional tickets starting as low as Rs. 380 (all-inclusive) on travel dates between June 10, 2015 and January 17, 2016. The booking for this AirAsia offer is open till November 16 , 2014. IndiGo's scheme comes in the wake of a similar offer from rival Jet Airways. Jet Airways has announced special fares starting as low as Rs. 1,973 (all-inclusive) on select destinations. This offer is valid on economy class travel within India. Airindia to sell tickets at Rs.100/-

National carrier Air India will celebrate on Wednesday its merger with erstwhile Indian Airlines as 'Air India Day', offering tickets for Rs 100 for a limited period. "This is the first time the airline will be celebrating the 'Air India Day'. A function will be held to celebrate the day and also to award meritorious employees of the airline," an official spokesperson said. Air India was amalgamated with erstwhile Indian Airlines into one airline as "Air India" on August 27, 2007. On the occasion, the flag carrier would launch 'Air India Offer'--a scheme offering tickets for Rs 100 apart from all applicable taxes. The site to book the Rs 100 ticket also displays a message: "The system is currently busy".  (Click) The sale of these tickets would be made only through the airline's website for five days from August 27 to 31 for travel during the period August 27 to September 30 only, he added.

Jet, Etihad Airways Spl.Offers

New Delhi, July 24 (IANS) Domestic airline company Jet Airways and its Abu Dhabi-based partner Etihad Airways Thursday started a 72-hour joint special fare offer. According to Jet Airways, the offer will be available from July 25-27 next with travel effective from Sep 1, 2014 till June 15, 2015 for flights within India and from Sep 1 till Nov 30, 2014 for flights to international destinations. The offer is valid for both economy and business class of Jet and Etihad Airways availing with a flat 20 percent to 50 percent discount over regular fares on the combined network of the two airlines across over 135 destinations worldwide.
