Miss Asia 2014 A final year undergraduate girl, Trisha Guduru, who was crowned Miss Asia International last year in USA, has come to set a trend for the youth here. Arriving in Hanamkonda city where she spent her childhood years, Ms Trisha had a busy day taking part in ‘Swachh Bharat’ and several other programmes arranged by the local people – taking and inspiring students and attending felicitation function among others. “I am happy to be here on a month-long visit. I am engaged in several social service programmes in USA and am president of UNICEF Queens Chapter 2014 and Global Advocate for US Fund for UNICEF,” she told The Hindu . Advocating girl child education and protection of women, she said she got to hear about bad conditions of women – increased violence against women in the recent times. “I urge youth to respect and protect women as they do with their own mothers and sisters.
