Motorola Is About To Release An Android Phone With Super-Long Battery Life, And Here's What It Looks Like

Image
Motorola and Verizon are expected to unveil a new Droid phone on Tuesday, but we may already have a clear idea of what it will look like. The Twitter account Moto Firmware (which is not affiliated with Motorola) has just posted a new set of images that reportedly  show Motorola's new Droid Turbo  in its retail packaging ( via Android Police ). Based on the photos, it seems as if the new Droid will look a lot like the second-generation Moto X and Nexus 6.  The Droid Turbo appears to feature a body that is rounder than that of both the current Droid Maxx and Droid Razr M. It's hard to tell exactly how large the phone is, but because there are virtually no bezels around its screen we can expect the display to be fairly big.  The phone's most impressive feature, however, is expected to be its battery life. If the reports are accurate, the device's 3,900 mAh battery should be able to last 48 hours on a single charge. If that's the case, the Droid Turbo will most likely...

Here Are All The Phones Confirmed To Get Google's Massive Android Update

Google Back in June, Google unveiled what's being called the biggest Android update yet. With Android 5.0, or "Lollipop," Google is adding a bunch of changes that are both physical and internal. One of the biggest alterations will be the introduction of Material Design — a new design language that puts more of an emphasis on shadows and colors. There are a handful of under-the-hood improvements, too, such as Project Volta, which is a collection of back end enhancements meant to improve battery life.  But, unlike the iPhone, Android devices don't get major software updates all at the same time. It depends on which type of phone you have and which carrier you're on. There are also tons of Android phones that are left out of major carrier updates too. We still don't know exactly when Android 5.0 will be released for every phone, but here's a roundup of what we know so far. Google Google's Nexus 6 will come with Android 5.0 already installed, and both th...

The New Android Phone Coming To Verizon Has A Super Sharp Camera That Puts The iPhone To Shame

Image
If you’ve taken a trip to your carrier’s brick and mortar store to buy a new phone in the past several years, chances are you probably haven’t come across any Sony smartphones. That’s because the company has largely been focusing its smartphone business on overseas markets like Europe and Japan. Now, it looks like that’s starting to change Sony is debuting its first major smartphone for Verizon on Oct. 23 — the Xperia Z3v. It’s a spin on its recent Xperia Z3 flagship, which just launched on T-Mobile’s network last month. It comes with a 5.2-inch 1080p screen and features a glass rear panel that makes the back of the phone feel as slick as the touch screen. It'll cost $199 on a two-year contract. It'll cost approximately $680 without a contract. It’s a nice phone, but Sony will have to offer a really compelling experience to compete with brands that are already incredibly popular in the US smartphone space, especially Apple and Samsung. Sony hopes to do that in a couple of way...

i have just got iphone 6 , i am thinking to return it

As soon as rumors started popping up that Apple was going to make a 5.5-inch iPhone, I knew I was going to buy it. I had been using a Galaxy Note II, which has a 5.5-inch screen, at home as a mini-tablet, and I thought it was great. I prefer iOS, so I was happy Apple was going to jump into the phablet market. Sure enough, on the day the phone was available for preorder, I woke up and ordered the iPhone 6 Plus. It arrived Wednesday, and my initial impression — 30 minutes in — was positive. The big screen is flat-out gorgeous. It's thin, and the device looks good. But, after ~12 hours with it, I have more mixed emotions. I am now wondering if this phone is too big for me and my day-to-day usage. I am wondering if in a week I'll be at the Apple Store, returning the phone. What's the problem? I had no idea how important one-handed usage is with a smartphone until it was basically taken away from me with the iPhone 6 Plus. I am 6-foot-1, and I think I have the hands th...

iPhone 6 features

This may be a schematic for a chip in the iPhone 6. Each year, we hear rumors that Apple will finally add Near Field Communication (NFC) to the iPhone.  As it turns out, 2014 isn't any different, because we're seeing a ton of indicators that the tech could appear in Apple's iPhone 6. NFC is a technology that allows you to share information or perform an action by simply tapping your phone against another compatible device or sensor. It is most commonly used for making payments with your phone or for sharing photos or contacts with another phone by tapping the two devices together. Many manufacturers behind today's biggest Android phones, including Samsung, have been putting NFC in their gadgets for years. But we have yet to see the technology really take off. Samsung's S Beam feature, for example, which allows you to share content by tapping two Samsung phones together back to back, is powered by NFC. It was originally introduced back in 2012 with the G...
